Commitment to Change


In order for any change to occur, commitment to the change is necessary. The unconscious mind requires commitment, anything less and the change will not occur. 

In other words, when someone comes in to stop smoking they may say “ I’ve tried ___” , or “ I think it will work”. These two of many negative statements, are statements of non-commitment and the unconscious mind will reject the change. If one comes in and they say that they know of someone who used hypnosis to change a behavior and that it worked for them, it reinforces the fact that hypnosis does work. It reinforces the needed commitment to make change.
